Information: Dementia is not an inevitable result of ageing. The risk of dementia increases with age. There are plenty of prejudices connected with dementia therefore it is still considered as a stigma for both, people with diagnosed dementia and members of their families. The caregivers in the Western hemisphere follow the medical attitude in which there is a strong emphasis on the diagnosis, treatment and medication based on scientific data. The caregivers have a key role in dementia care. In the project researchers prepare educational aplication for informal caregivers.
Effects:
- Facilitate the exchange of knowledge between the informal carers and to support this wayway their health education education
- Support the informal carers by providing them dementia -specific specific specific specific information as well nursing and medical information as well nursing and medical assistance
- Country – specific modules are developed, which to be incorporated modules are developed, which to be incorporated into a common EU – wide wide application application
